Hello and Welcome to Casa Dance Studio!
It's time to register for the 2015-16 Dance Season. It is hard to believe that it's time to get ready for the Fall! Our summer classes are filled with fun and learning and we are looking forward to continuing in the fall with all of our current students and lots of new ones. We are expecting to have a packed Fall schedule, with new classes, age divisions and levels. 
The schedule will be ready and online by August 8. So whether you are a returning family or new to Casa Dance we are looking forward to seeing you in September! Please read all of the info below and then send in your registration! You can register online, by mail or in person or at our Open Houses Tuesdays August 4 & 11 12pm to 2pm, August 17 - 20, 5:30-8pm. BUT if you need your fall schedule considered as we set up our class times you MUST register and pay the registration fee by August 1.

Print the Registration form and mail to Casa Dance Studio, 611 Elm Ave, Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097 along with a check or money order. 

Come to the studio and register and pay in person.

Call us at 856-845-5788 to register by phone then bring cash, check, credit/debit card payment to the studio. 

Classes are assigned by age and experience based first on your registration information but may be adjusted once you attend class. Red and Black levels are by audition or teacher recommendation only.

Classes will begin Monday Sept 14, 2015 and will continue through June 17, 2015. Recital week is June 20 to Recital Day! - June 26. 
Each class will be held once a week. You may take more than one class. We have Single person and Family Payment Caps (see below).

If you have not yet tried a dance class you do NOT need to buy dance shoes or dance outfits before starting class. If you have danced previously and have shoes, leotard and tights, please wear them. Dance Shoes and Tights MUST be ordered through Casa Dance Studio. You will receive info for ordering shoes and tights at the Open House and by email and during the first week of classes. Leotards may be purchased anywhere. By Spring show time we need all dancers to have the shoes and tights on our list. If you have different shoes now, that will be fine for class.

CASA DANCE LEVELS - We have levels based both on age and experience that all correspond to a color name. Below is our level breakdown

WHITE LEVEL - This level is for our youngest dancers. Dancers in this level are ages 14 months to beginner 21/2 years. New 21/2 year old dancers will start in this level but may be moved to our next level with teacher recommendation. Classes for the White Level are 30 minutes long of stretching, beginning Ballet, and tumbling. 

YELLOW LEVEL - This level is for experienced 21/2 year olds to beginner 31/2 year old dancers. Dancers in this level may be asked to move to the next level based on teacher recommendation. Yellow Level dancers have the option of a 45 minute long Ballet/Tap/Tumbling class and/or a 45 minute long Gymnastics class. 

GOLD LEVEL - This level is for experienced 31/2 year olds to beginner 41/2 year old dancers. Dancers in this level may be asked to move to the Yellow or the Pink level based on teacher recommendation. Gold Level dancers have the option of a 45 minute long Ballet/Tap/Tumbling class and/or a 45 minute long Gymnastics class and/or a 30 minute long Hula class and/or a 45 minute long Musical Theater class. 

PINK LEVEL - This level is for experienced 41/2 year olds to beginner 8 year old dancers. Dancers in this level may be asked to move to the Gold level or the Purple level based on teacher recommendation. Pink Level dancers have the option of a 30 minute long Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and/or Hip Hop classes and/or a hour long Acro class and/or a 45 minute long Gymnastics class and/or a 30 minute long Hula class and/or a 45 minute long Musical Theater **class. **Older dancers may be asked to be in hour long Musical Theater class depending on age mix in classes

PURPLE LEVEL - This level is for 51/2 year olds to 81/2 year old dancers who have been dancing for a while and have been recommended by teacher(s). This level is for our intermediate/advanced level dancers in this age range. Dancers in this level will have a dress code. (See below) Purple Level classes are a minimum of 45 minutes long with the exception of Hula. Dancers may take Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Pre Pointe, Acro, Gymnastics, Hula, Poi Balls, Tahitian, and with recommendation may take Modern. 

BLUE LEVEL -This level is for 81/2 year old dancers and above. Advanced 61/2 & up MAY be invited to this level if they show extraordinary dedication and promise. Dancers in this level will have a dress code. (See below) Dancers may take Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Pre Pointe, Acro, Gymnastics, Hula, Poi Balls, Tahitian, and Modern/Contemporary. All classes excluding Polynesian, Lyrical, and Pre Pointe classes are 1 hour. Some classes may be longer at the teacher’s request. 

GREEN LEVEL - This Level is for our older teens and adults with limited dance experience, teens/adults who are just getting back into dancing or teens/adults who want to dance for fun and/or exercise. We offer Belly Dancing, Hula, Tahitian, Poi Balls, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Musical Theater for this level. The classes are generally 1 hour long. Class intensity and structure is built around what each class wants. 

RED LEVEL** - This level is for intermediate level dancers who have been dancing for a while and have been recommended by teacher(s) to audition. Dancers cannot take these classes without teacher recommendation and audition. In order to be in this level for Jazz, Pre Pointe/Pointe, and Modern/Contemporary, the dancer MUST be taking at least two Ballet classes one of which must be a Red or Black Level Ballet class. Dancers in this level will have a dress code. (See below) Dancers may audition for Red or Black Level in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Modern/Contemporary and/or Acro Dancers may take Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Pre Pointe, Pointe***, Acro, Hula, Poi Balls, Tahitian, and 
Modern/Contemporary. All classes excluding Polynesian, Lyrical, and Pre Pointe classes are 1 hour. Some classes may be longer at the teacher’s request. 
**Must be at least 7 years old ***Minimum of 12 yrs old

BLACK LEVEL** - This level is for ADVANCED level dancers who have been dancing for a while and have been recommended by teacher(s). Dancers cannot take these classes without teacher recommendation/audition. In order to be in this level for Jazz, Pre Pointe/Pointe, and Modern/Contemporary, the dancer MUST be taking at least one Black Level Ballet class. Dancers in this level will have a dress code. (See below) Dancers may take Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Pre Pointe, Pointe***, Acro, Hula, Poi Balls, Tahitian, and Modern/Contemporary. All classes excluding Polynesian, Lyrical, and Pre Pointe classes are 1 hour. Some classes may be longer at the teacher’s request.
***Must be at least 13 years old 

POLYNESIAN & BELLY DANCE classes are age based.


DRESS CODE
Dancers in White, Yellow, Gold, and Pink levels may wear leotards in any style/color and any color footless or convertible tights and socks; students may not wear footed tights or skirts longer than upper thigh. No baggy/loose clothing will be permitted. Adults - your instructor will provide info. All hair must be secured off of your face.
Dancers in Acro or Gymnastics Classes may NOT wear skirts and MUST wear leotards in ALL levels. Hair MUST be secured back at all times.

Dancers in the Purple level must wear either a purple or black leotard or dance bra with purple shorts or a short purple dance skirt. All dancers must wear Pink or Tan convertible or stirrup tights. Dance shrugs may be wore in black or in level color. Hair must be secured back in a Bun, ponytail, or braids (No beads). If wearing multiple braids, they must be secured in a pony tail or bun. All hair should be secured off face with clips or elastics.

Dancers in Blue, Red, & Black levels MUST wear Black Leotards in any style or Black Dance Bra with dance shorts in their BALLET class level color. All dancers must wear Pink or Tan convertible or stirrup tights. Dance shrugs may be wore in black or in level color. Hair must be secured back in a Bun, ponytail, or braids at all times (No beads). If wearing multiple braids, they must be secured in a pony tail or bun. All hair should be secure off face with clips or elastics.

New students should wear clothes in which they can bend and stretch. Dancers 7 & under may wear dry, one piece bathing suits. Footed tights are NOT permitted. Please have socks. Those in a Tap class should also bring a pair of hard sole shoes. We do have donated Tap shoes that we try to fit new students with until they get their own but in case we do not have your size or in case a young child does not want to wear our shoes please bring shoes. All hair must be secured off of your face. You do NOT need to buy shoes to start class. If you buy shoes before starting class you will still be required to order through Casa Dance Studio so that all students will have the required styles, colors and fit.
Male students should wear sweat pants or shorts and a T-shirt that fits. Boys over age 8 should wear an athletic supporter.
We have some leotards, tutus, tights and dance shoes available at the studio for sale during the Open Houses. Shoe measurements will be taken during the last week of Sept and orders placed.

CLASS FEES
Class Fees are based on a total for the season. This total is divided into monthly payments. The monthly payments are NOT dependent on the number of weeks in each month. Choose the Recital Star option (pay 1st month & and half of last month class fees by Sept 1 and pay 2nd month and half of last month class fees by Oct 1) to receive a discount. You may also pay several months or the whole season fee and receive a discount. There are no refunds or pro rating for missed classes. If you miss a class please speak with your instructor for the best time and day to make up the missed class.
We accept cash, money orders or checks. Debit/Credit card payments are available in the studio or online. PayPal payments may be made online at www.casadancestudio.com – click Online Payments.

*except specialty classes - Solo, Duet or Trio classes - choreography only - Specialty classes are $35 per half hour paid cash only direct to the choreographer. A specialty dance may only be done in a style of dance that the student is taking a technique group class in. Specialty classes/teachers are on a first come-first served basis and may not be included in the recitals due to time constraints. Please speak to Miss Anne or Miss Thaya if you are interested in a specialty dance.

Costume payments will be needed by Nov. 1st. Each class will receive a costume. (Purple level 30 minute classes will get 1 costume that will be used for Ballet & Jazz or Tap & Hip Hop). We try to keep the prices as low as possible. We will have the total costume price by Oct after all the costume books have come in and final decisions have been made but we TRY to stay with $70.00 for White level, $80.00 for Yellow & Gold levels, $85-$90 for our Pink & Purple levels, and $75-$90 for Blue, Black and Green levels. 

Fundraising will begin in Sept to help you raise money to pay for your costumes, shoes, classes or competition fees. Please help yourself by participating. We will be offering many fundraisers throughout the year. (See the partial list below)

COMPETITION
As you are finalizing your class choices please check the information about Competition below. Casa Dance Studio Competition Team Casa Dance Studio has 2 levels of competition participation:
Class competitors – All age groups are eligible to be Class Competitors.
 for those who want to compete but without too much extra time. These competitors will use their class dances for competition. These competitors may be asked to come in for additional rehearsal time if necessary.
Requirements to participate as a Class Competitor – regular attendance at class, attendance at all required rehearsals and shows.
Purchase (if you do not already have one) a Pink (girls) or Grey (boys) Casa Dance Studio T-shirt or a Black rhinestoned Casa shirt. These shirts plus black shorts or pants are to be worn to all competitions and on stage for awards.
If you already have the above items you do NOT need to purchase new ones.
Order forms will be out in Sept.

Diamond Competition Team – for those who want to do more. This competition team has extra rehearsals on Saturdays and will learn additional dances. This team consists of dancers from many different classes. 
Requirements to participate on the Diamond Competition Team– regular attendance at all classes. Purple, Blue, & Black may participate on the Diamond Competition Team. Pink level dancers may participate with teacher recommendation. 
*All participating dancers must take Ballet
*Purple, Blue & Black levels must also be taking Lyrical or Jazz
All dancers must attend the extra Saturday rehearsals as indicated and participate in the competitions and shows we schedule for them.
There is a flat fee of $35.00 per dancer to participate on the Diamond Team. All Diamond Team members must have black dance pants or shorts, a black Diamond Team T-shirt and a black Diamond Team zip front hoodie. We have two kinds of Diamond Team clothing, screen printed or rhinestone. Order forms will be out in Sept.
These items must be worn to all competitions and on stage for awards. If you already have the above items you do NOT need to purchase new ones.
Additional costumes may need to be purchased.
Competitions do have entry fees of approximately $35.00- $45 per person per group dance.
Fundraising will be available to help pay for the fees.

We plan on attending four or five regional competitions and True Talent Nationals in July. Dates, locations and fee due dates are listed below.
